About Zoe
Hello! I’m Zoë and I’m the owner of Cult Salon 😊
I started my hairdressing journey at 14 years old, with a Saturday job at my local salon. I went on to do my apprenticeship at Toni & Guy where I qualified with a grade A diploma at their London Academy.
In 2010 I moved to Sydney, Australia, where I first had the chance to work on magazine editorials and runway shows.
When I returned to the UK I became part of the team at Ken Picton, and as the Artistic Director, had the opportunity to travel the world teaching, and working on major hair shows and shoots. I was part of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing FAME Team in 2016 and won Wales and the West Hairdresser of the Year at the British Hairdressing Awards 2017.
In 2020, after an incredible 20 year career in hairdressing I decided to make some changes to the way I was working. Lockdown taught me I needed to slow down and have a much better work/life balance.
I am passionate about my job and every haircut I do, so I wanted to run my appointments in a more relaxed way to suit individuals and so that my clients, and I, didn’t feel rushed. I wanted the salon to feel like a safe space, and inclusive to everyone.
I have been vegan for many years and try to live as ethically and sustainably as possible, so I wanted to bring these values in to my working life too. And that’s how Cult Salon was born!
When I’m not in the salon you’ll find me at home with my little twins Felix and Frida! They keep me pretty busy, but I also love art and music (I’m an old emo) and enjoy cooking vegan food when I have the time!

About Nicola
I’m Nicola and I’m a colour specialist with over 25 years in the industry.
I started my journey at 14 with work experience and then landed my first Saturday job. It was clear to me in my training just how much I loved colouring hair and when I moved to London I chose to specialise in colour. I worked in Covent Garden for a few years working with some great mentors where my mind was opened up to the possibilities within the world of fashion, working on shoots for magazines and competitions.
I eventually lived and worked in Greece for a couple of years before moving to Cardiff and joining the Ken Picton team where I spent 16 years. Whilst there I achieved two colour specialist awards.
My passions are bleaching and colour changes, I really love a challenge! I feel lucky that I still love what I do and really enjoy helping clients achieve the look they want.
Outside Cult I love sea swimming, paddle boarding and long walks outside with my dogs and family

About Jo
I was eager to get into hairdressing as soon as possible and started my journey working in a salon at 14.
At 16 I was fortunate enough to secure an apprenticeship at Ken Picton and realised how exciting our industry could really be.
I achieved an NVQ level two and three in hairdressing as well as my level two in barbering.
I went on to become assistant director and discovered I had a passion for both cutting and styling, as well as colouring. I love to transform a client’s hair and make them feel great, really paying attention to the finer details.
Outside of Cult I am busy with my family life.

About Ell
I’m Ell and I’m a colourist at Cult!
I’ve been hairdressing for 10 years and my passion is colour, colour, colour!
I really enjoy making my lovely clients feel and look wonderful and watching them leave with a spring in their step.
I love all aspects of colour from root tints and highlights to a beautiful natural sun kissed balayage!
Outside of Cult I spend time with family and looking for my dream house.

About Paul
Hi, I’m Paul and I love to colour hair!
Starting off my career 26 years ago I never could have dreamt when the journey would have taken me, I’ve been fortunate enough to have worked all over the world showcasing the latest innovations in colour, teaching students in modern technique and been lucky enough to be a British hairdressing awards winner!
People always ask me what is my favourite type of colouring to do and the simple answer is whatever makes YOU look the best.
I’m innovative, a great listener and love to make people feel relaxed when they are in my chair!

Outside of Cult I spend my time long distance running and have competed in Cardiff’s half marathon and the London marathon.

Hi, I'm Rachel,
I have spent my working life in corporate environments. During covid lockdown I decided to finally take the plunge into a new career that was creative and made people feel good about themselves. I had worked in salons before and always held an interest in hairdressing so I approached Cult and started my apprenticeship with them and every day I am thankful I took that jump. I am qualified in hair extensions and I passed my level 2 NVQ in hairdressing in October.
Outside of Cult I am reliving my youth with all things 90s.

Hi, I'm Martha
I'm Martha owner of ISHI Brows & Lashes. I am a qualified Microblading technician, and brow & lash artist specialising in classic lash extensions, lash lifts, brow laminations, shaping and tinting. I love natural looking, beauty enhancing, results and strive to give you brows and lashes you absolutely love, whichever treatment we choose.
Consultations are always free. I offer a friendly, relaxed space inside the gorgeous Cult Salon, Penarth.
I have the most wonderful regular clients who I truly enjoy spending time with, catching up on things in their life and putting the world to rights all while giving them a good pamper.
Whether you come to me for a one off treatment or become a regular face, I try to make every one of my clients feel cared for in the time I'm with them. Thank you as always for your continued custom and support.
